Ian Newman Campaign

My name is Ian Newman and it was a pleasure to run for City Council in Ward 8 on October 21, 2013. I am grateful for the experience, and thankful for all the new friends and neighbors I have met over the past year. I do plan on running again in 2017 if the newly installed Council is unable to achieve the things I campaigned for Affordability, Accountability and Action.

I have lived in the Beltline since 2004 and love my community. One of the challenges facing the Beltline is how to build effective “community” in highly populated urban environments. This is something that Calgary must figure out as it population grows. Over the next 4 years I pledge to do what I can as a citizen to work with my community to help our Councilor Evan Woolley put Neighborhoods First.

If you are a like minded individual, I would love to work with you in creating, building and implementing ideas that can put our neighborhoods first. I am going to leave the webpage up and running and will be updating my blog at least once a week on Civic Events, Urban Life, and well just about whatevery I want.
